Spring steel is also commonly used in the manufacture of metal swords used for stage
combat due to its resistance to snapping or shattering. Spring steel is one of the
most popular materials used in the fabrication of lockpicks due to its pliability
and resilience. Tubular spring steel is used in some of the smaller aircraft's landing
gear due to its ability to absorb the shock from landing & also acts like damping.
Applications include piano wire, spring clamps, antennas, and springs.
We produce high tensile strength wire which is suitable for making springs being
used in various applications. We can produce the wire as per international standards
or as per customer’s requirements.
Carbon spring wire is used extensively for the manucfacture of coiled springs in
mattress and seating manufacturing. Pakistan wire produces a wide range which include
helical, pocket, bonnel, zigzag, frame and conical variants.
The bedding and seating wire is produced to meet customers specific requirements,
using precisely formulated raw materials and bespoke process routes, a combination
that results in a product that is exceptionally clean, with a uniform surface finish
and superior tensile strength uniformity.
Pakistan Wire's expertise in pattern laying, produces a coil with minimum helix
distortion, resulting in superior payoff characteristics that enhance customers
production efficeincy.
Steel wire armour provides mechanical protection, which means the cable can withstand
higher stresses, be buried directly and used in external or underground projects.
The armouring is normally connected to earth and can sometimes be used as the circuit
protective conductor ("earth wire") for the equipment supplied by cable.
Apart from producing the wire as per the above specifications, we can also produce
the material as per customer’s specific requirements. Generally, we maintain the
following standards:
Diameter : 0.9mm - 3.9 mm
Coil Weight : 20 - 150 Kgs
Packing Style : Jumbo coils, Plastic bags.
Spoke Wire is used in the manufacturing of cycle, rickshaw, moped, motorcycle and
three wheeler spokes.
Material : Medium Carbon, High Carbon, Mild Steel or according to customer specifications.
Diameter : 2.0 mm - 4.0 mm
Hard Drawn Low Carbon Wire has been cold drawn to the required diameter and not
subjected to any subsequent treatment process. Often used for plating and coating,
it is important that the surface finish of the wire is clean and smooth. It will
take moderate bending or flattening, machineability is fair and the wire can be
roll threaded. OneSteel Wire have developed a range of products for high speed 2D
and 3D bending machines including Truform and Hiform.
This is a general purpose manufacturing wire suitable for a large range of applications.
Various applications include super market trolleys, shelving, baskets, racks, hooks
and general automotive parts.
Baling wire, otherwise known as bale wire, farm wire, or soft wire, is a type of
wire used in an agricultural setting and industrial setting for everything from
mending fences to manually binding a rectangular bale of hay, straw, or cut grass.
It is also used to band together condensed cardboard, textiles, aluminum and other
materials that are processed in the recycling industry.
Baling wire is commonly used in many non-agricultural applications, usually in an
informal, make-do manner. It is frequently referred to as one of the basic repair
materials. Typical uses range from supporting loose mufflers to patching chain-link
fences. Common phrases often include baling wire as an ad hoc, fix-anything material,
alongside chewing gum, duct tape, and the cable tie.
Shoe tacks, florist's wire, automatic tie wire, high carbon ducting wire are all applications for fine wire which can be supplied in hard drawn, interannealed or finally annealed.
Wire rope, is a type of cable which consists of several strands of metal wire laid
(or 'twisted') into a helix. The term cable is often used interchangeably with wire
rope. However, in general, wire rope refers to diameters larger than 3/8 inch. Sizes
smaller than this are designated as cable or cords. Initially wrought iron wires
were used, but today steel is the main material used for wire ropes.
Historically wire rope evolved from steel chains which had a record of mechanical
failure. While flaws in chain links or solid steel bars can lead to catastrophic
failure, flaws in the wires making up a steel cable are less critical as the other
wires easily take up the load. Friction between the individual wires and strands,
as a consequence of their twist, further compensates for any flaws.

Concentric-lay-stranded conductors of aluminum-clad steel wires.
Application : Used for guy or messenger wire where long life and superior corrosion resistance is desired.
ACSR stands for "Aluminum Conductors Steel Reinforced" and it consists of a solid or stranded steel core surrounded by strands of aluminum (E.C. GRADE). ACSR Conductor is available in a wide range of steel varying from as low as 6% to as high as 40%. The principal advantage of these conductors is high tensile strength so that they are used for longer spans with less supports. Cable & Conductor ACSR Core wire is used in reinforcement of aluminum conductors used in distribution and transmission of electricity.

Pre-stressed Concrete (PC) Stranded wires are used in Pre-stressed concrete girders
for road, river & railway bridges and flyovers, pre-stressed atomic reactor domes,
slabs, silos, hangars, aquaducts, high rise buildings, viaducts and railway sleepers.
Prestress : Artificial compression stress to compensate tensile stress to be exerted from exterior force.
Concrete : Concrete Structure built with Pre-Stress.
PC Wire and Strand : Steel Wire or Strands used to Pre-stress concrete structures.

Product Description : Suitable for telegram, telephone, optical fibre, communication cables.
ExecutiveStandard : GB346-84, GB3082-84.
The term “patented wire” refers to a particular process through which steel wire
is strengthened to particular specifications, rather than an actual type of wire.
Sometimes called “improved plow steel” or “extra improved plow steel” wire, patented
wire is high-carbon, high-tensile steel wire that has been put through a special
heat-treatment process for added durability and strength. For this reason, patented
wire is popular for use in the manufacturing of wire rope, music wire and high tensile
spring applications.
Patented wire can be made to a variety of hardness levels, depending mainly on the
carbon level in the steel prior to quenching. It is also available in a variety
of diameter sizes.
If galvanized wire for signalling is to play an important part in the communication system of a country properly, it must, primarily, be able to withstand all the gruelling tests put to it by natural atmospheric conditions.
The Pakistan Wire Rope's plant is occupied with newly installed galvanizing lines and greatly imporoved galvanizing techniques all PWR galvanized wires for singnalling are manufacutured according to the following specifications.
A guy-wire, guy-rope or guide-wire, also known as simply a guy, is a tensioned cable designed to add stability to a free-standing structure. They are used commonly in wind turbines, utility poles, fire service extension ladders used in church raises and tents.
Application : Suitable for hanger, hang, communication cable, overhead power linne and fixing subject etc.
Standards GB1179 - 1999
Pakistan Wire Industries producing control cables as per international standards such as JIS 3540 standard provided by the customer, to meet demanding requirements of different applications. The product portfolio includes inner wire strands for clutch cable assembly.
The state of the art infrastructure ensures consistency in quality and availability of material on time. The expertise acquired in producing premium quality of steel wire and wire products over the decades is reflective in the competitive prices offered with excellent services to the valued multinational and foreign consumers. The research base approach helps company continuously improves its product foot print and quality by keeping at par with international standards.
